Factorio main bus guide

I've never done anything other than use a main bus in factorio. Been enjoying krastorio 2 with rampant but I've been under the impression I should do something other than using a bus. I always use cityblocks in conjunction with the main bus (just to organise things). I scrapped the main bus and used trains in a city block style like Nialus has ....
