I have been using hi gear all the time for about 2 years, when I use low gear it will go for maybe 10-15 seconds before popping out of gear and grinding.Dot to dot. The 99 and newer Mule 2510, 3010, and 4010 use steel gears. So they will never fail again. Plastic was used for quiet operation originally, but Kawasaki found out that people never changed oil in them and the plastic gear didn't like not having clean oil. Check tire size, check diff. ratio. The tires must match and gear ratio must be the same. If off just a little bit it will cause a prob like you discribe..
