Orifice tube a c system diagram

pilot4life Discussion starter · Jun 5, 2011. Just like the title said AC blows kinda cool but not frigid like it used to. Had a local small shop evac and recharge the system and found the orifice tube was half full of metal. It also failed the vacuum test. I figure the compressor is going and was curious if any of yall have redone the AC system..

The expansion valve (orifice tube) is a component that is used in your vehicle's air conditioning system. What it does is regulate the pressure of the A/C refrigerant as it enters into your car's evaporator. It's in this tube where the liquid refrigerant turns into a gas thanks to the pressure that converts it.The orifice tube is located in the line of the high pressure side of the system it maybe at the condenser or in the high pressure line. You should be able to feel a crimp in the line and the is the stop for the orifice. I believe the o6 is in the line and as I said there is a crimp in the line where the orifice is located.A clutch-cycling switch is used only with fixed orifice-tube systems. The clutch-cycling switch is located in the low side of the A/C system, taking its high- and low-pressure signals from the low side of the system. It acts as a low-pressure cutout switch, in addition to cycling the compressor on and off. A high-pressure cutout switch still is ...

An orifice is a submerged opening with a closed perimeter through which water flows. Orifices are analyzed using the following equation: Q = CA 2gh where: Q = Discharge in cfs C = Coefficient of discharge from Handbook of Hydraulics, King and Brater, 5th Edition (or comparable) A = Area of opening in square feet g = 32.2 ft/secJetta Variant Comfortline. Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) System The first type of system, the Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) system, uses a thermal expansion valve (TXV) to provide the pressure drop in the refrigerant. The TXV is a variable control valve located at the entrance of the evaporator. This type of system also has a receiver-drier on the liquid line.SOURCE: where is the orifice tube on a 98 Buick LeSabre. not exactly sure but using info below you can find it. Remember the flow for the a/c system is : 1. From the compressor a high pressure gas goes to the condenser in front of the radiator. 2. From the condenser a HP liquid goes to an expansion device (orifice tube or expansion valve) 3.

The orifice is in the smaller of the two lines at the evaporator. If you can see the two metal evaporator lines, you will notice the end of the high pressure line at the evaporator coming from the condensor has a slight bulge in it, that is where the orifice tube is located. Orifice Fittings - Parker NAThe orifice tube is the dividing point for the high and the low pressure sides of the A/C system. As the refrigerant passes through the orifice tube, the pressure on the refrigerant is lowered. Due to the pressure differential on the liquid refrigerant, the refrigerant will begin to vaporize at the orifice tube.2. Fixed-Orifice Tube System. The second system is called a Fixed-Orifice Tube system (this system used to be called CCOT, or Compressor Cycling Orifice Tube). Instead of a TXV, it has an orifice …
